Revive with Elive

Hey hair besties! I’ll be reviewing L’oreal’s Elive hair mask balm. I received this product free to try. Thank you L’Oreal Paris and Influenster.

This is a hair mask for colored and damaged hair. It’s claims to repair damaged hair in just one use. It also is supposed to work like a deep conditioner, that nourishes your hair.

It claims to smooth out your hair and protect it from further damage. It is specifically formulated for dry, damaged, and color treated hair. Of course if you have the shampoo and conditioner it will have the optimal results you’re looking for.

You’re supposed to use this instead of your conditioner. You leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse. The recommended use is 1 to 2 times a week.

Here’s the deal; my color lasts on me because I wash my hair once a week. While some of you can’t do this. I just can’t wash it more than that unless something happens (I.E. I’m drenched in sweat from a workout; which is rare).

When I do wash my hair, I wash it in cold water. Your color last longer this way; it was recommended to me by my stylist and I swear by it. Once it is washed, I condition it with my own conditioner and leave it in for 3 to 4 minutes then rinse.

Once I am out of the shower, with my hair still wet I apply the hair mask. Some hair masks I leave on for 3 to 4 hours and others I leave on overnight. The first time I used Elive I left it on for 3 hours. Then I rinsed it out with cold water. Then I applied a leave in conditioner; then styled it.

I know this may seem like a lot but if you want to have silky soft hair, the time you put into your hair is worth it. I definitely recommend this product. It works great and its affordable. Give it a try too and let me know what you guys think. Till next time babes! xoxo

Farsali Trifecta

Hi lovelies!! This year has been a busy one to say the least. I have things much more organized now. So, I will be posting more regularly.

Today I will be reviewing Farsali. I wanted to see what all the hype was for myself. The review will consist of the Unicorn Essence, Rose Gold Elixir, and the Volcanic Elixir. The Jelly Beam highlight will be a whole other post.

I’ll begin with the Unicorn Essence; this is an antioxidant serum and primer in one. It is ideal for all skin types and its also oil-free. Its free of sulfates and parabens. It’s supposed to protect skin from free radical damage, while also prepping your skin for your makeup application.

First off let me say that it smells delightful. I am not a fan of things that go on my face to have an overpowering scent. This particular product hit the mark on the strength and type of smell that you have on you face. It feels good when you put it on and my skin quickly absorbs it. I personally use this as a primer. If you didn’t know this works well as an eye-shadow primer too.

Let me further explain why Unicorn Essence is an antioxidant serum. It has Acai berry extract which is commonly used in anti-aging products. Its rich in Vitamin A, B, C, & E. In a sense it revives your skin by healing damaged skin and restores its moisture.

It’s also contains Goji berry extract. If you haven’t heard of this fruit; then you need to start taking it. For starters, eating this fruit helps with your heart and boost you immune system. The benefits of the extract for the skin are remarkable. It is high in vitamin A, so, it contains plenty of antioxidants; this helps with the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. Eating goji berries and using Unicorn essence will help improve skin elasticity. It also helps with reducing the appearance of scars. Goji also helps damaged skin. In addition, goji berries contain two known endogenous skin antioxidants, which are heme oxygenase-1 and metallothionein. These two antioxidants have been proven to facilitate in photoimmune protection. That means it helps protect your skin.

Goji berries can help combat the onset of dehydrated skin because of the amino acids they contain. Amino acids aid in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, increase skin hydration, and improve skin color and tone. In addition, to amino acids, goji berries also contain polysaccharides. Polysaccharides have been known to have antioxidant properties, and their presence in goji berries help to increase skin hydration, as well as to tighten and firm the surface of the skin, thereby promoting the appearance of a radiant, youthful glow.

Unicorn essence also contains elderberry extract. This is the superstar of antioxidants. This helps against free radicals. They’re anti-bactirial which is good for acne prone skin. It helps with allergic rashes and is an anti-imflammatory. This extract is what makes it good for all skin types.

Lastly, it has blueberry extract. Now this may not sound as exotic as the other extracts. However,  the blueberry extract is just as important. Blueberries contain more antioxidants than green tea. They are loaded with vitamins A, C, & E. Blueberries whether you ingest them or use the extract on your skin; they will help make you look younger, revive your dull skin and make it look brighter. It also helps repair sun damaged skin.

I personally use this product everyday as a primer. I have loads of different primers and this one is my favorite one. I have never used it as an eyeshadow primer just cause I personally use some concealer as a primer for my eyes. I also use this to make powder highlighters pop more. I personally will take some of my powder highlighter and mix in a drop or two of the unicorn essence and dab it on. I let it dry a little bit and then blend it in and voila. It is a little pricey. You get a 1 oz. bottle for $54. However, I would definitely recommend this product it is worth the money in my opinion.

Moving on to the Rose Gold Elixir. This is also ideal for all skin types. This is recommended for daytime use. It is a lightweight hydrating beauty oil. It has anti-aging benefits. It is supposed to leave your skin naturally radiant and glowing. The base of this luxurious Elixir is Rosehip seed oil. Rosehip seed is made up of 77% fatty acids — high in linoleic acids, vitamin C, and vitamin A (retinol) — all essential for skin health. Rosehips have been found to regenerate tissue and reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks.

Rosehip seed oil is full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, all while reducing scars and fine lines. Safflower seed oil is less aggravating to skin and contains about 78% of linoleic acid, which is undoubtedly a secret weapon in fighting against acne problems. Linoleic acid, its principal fatty acid, is an essential fatty that cannot be synthesized by the human body.

Pumpkin seed oil is rich in vitamin E, zinc, omega 3- and 6- fatty acids as well as antioxidants, therefore it has tremendous benefits for the skin in terms of retaining moisture, fighting free radicals and maintaining a youthful appearance. Vitamin E works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the aging process. It has basic antioxidant properties that everyone needs.

Lemongrass oil has one key benefit which is skin healing properties. It is also perfect for getting even and glowing skin. Orange peel oil is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory which makes it an ideal ingredient in your skin and hair routine. This oil isn’t just for acne-prone skin though: It’s been shown to increase the ability to absorb vitamin C, collagen production, and blood flow, all of which are essential for anti-aging.

I personally haven’t used this on my face at all. I use this to hydrate my lips before I apply a matte lipstick.  So, I can’t really recommend it for your skin or not. That is something you would have to decide for yourself. However,  I do recommend this product for your lips. It makes your lips plump and luscious, especially if you’re wearing a matte lipstick.

Lastly we have the Volcanic Elixir. This elixir is great for all skin types; especially acne prone skin. It is ideal for night-time use.

It contains Tamanu oil. There are a lot of benefits associated with Tamanu oil. It has a wide range of natural treatments for acne and acne scars, eczema, psoriasis, toenail fungus, stretch marks, age spots, skin rashes, general scarring, dermatitis through to anti-aging and as an ingredient in making good skin products for oily skin.

Tamanu Oil can be used as a stand-alone product, whether it be solely as a product for oily acne skin or for the prevention or reduction of scarring or just for beautiful, blemish-free skin. Not only can you use Tamanu Oil for skin rejuvenation but you can even use Tamanu Oil for hair and scalp rejuvenation as well. It also seems to great for healthy, nail growth.

I personally use this product every night before going to bed. I apply just like a serum. I love it. It smells earthy and its thick and feels good on the skin without leaving an oily residue. I recommend this product. It is less expensive than the other two but I believe just as important in your beauty routine. I believe that Farsali really knocked it out of the park with these 3 little miracles.

If you guys would like to see a tutorial on  how I make my highlighter pop with the unicorn essence, or how I prep my lips with the rose gold, or a simple tutorial on my night-time regimen, let me know. Till next time babes! xoxo

Red Edition

Ho ho ho babes! In the spirit of the holidays. I figured I would review Huda Beauty’s  “Red edition” liquid mini matte lip set. I’m a big fan of red lips and if you are too then this set is good for you. It’s also a great stocking stuffer for any lipstick queen.

They go on really easy and its lightweight unlike some other matte lip kits I won’t mention. You can layer the look to make it look bolder or even create an ombre look with them. I decided to go with an ombre with “famous”.

The set includes “Showgirl”; which is a metallic red. This would be amazing to bring in the new year. Then “Famous” which is like a burgundy wine. Its a warmer tone red that looks great on almost every skin tone. Then there is “Heartbreaker” this one is one of my favorites. It’s a pinkish red but it looked more like strawberry to me. This one will look different on different skin tones. With that being said it will look good all year around. The we have “Material girl” for all those vampy suductresses out there. This one reminds me of plum wine.

Regardless which one it is, they all look fabulous. They last all day. Now don’t think this means that eating pizza or getting busy with your lover means this won’t smudge; it will. However, I still recommend them and I believe they are worth every penny. They are currently available on her site at Huda Beauty, for only $33.

That’s a swatch of the set showgirl, famous, material girl, and heartbreaker (from top to bottom). Let me know if there are any lip products you want me to test. I’ll be more than happy to be a guniea pig for all of you. Head over to my Instagram and check out my application process for this set @guiltlessglambeauty. Till next time lovelies! xoxoxo

Hi lovelies! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. ^-^ My weekend was extremely busy, besides the holiday I also had my brothers wedding this weekend. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Today I will be reviewing Lancome’s “visionnaire yeux” eye balm. I received a sample 20642580901-1through Sephora and I liked it so much that I went out and bought it to thoroughly try it out and give my wonderful followers my thoughts on it.

Visionnaire is supposed to reduce the appearance of crows feet, puffiness, and fatigue. I could already see a difference from the moment I tried it the first time.

It has a Hydrablur technology that blurs away imperfections. It also helps reduce the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles. To achieve these results it does take about 4 to 6 weeks of use.

It is good for all skin types and doesn’t contain any parabens or phthalates. I applied this religiously every morning and night. The only down side to this product is that Lancome only offers a .5 fl oz bottle for $65. The quantity is expected out of an eye cream but the price point is off for me. I would actually rather spend an extra $10 to purchase Bobbi Brown’s extra repair eye cream.

Even though I really liked this product and it was good. It also backed up its claims, it just did not have that wow factor for me. There are a lot of expectations for eye creams and this one just fell short. However, I still recommend this product to those that want to give it a try. For those that just don’t have that kind of money or want an extra rich and creamy eye cream then I would pass on this.

Leave me a comment below on what guys think. Would you try this product and if you did what are your thoughts? Also if there are any eye creams that you guys would like me to review let me know. I am more than willing to be a guinea for my lovely followers. Till next time everyone. xoxox

Light as a feather

Hi babes! Today I will be reviewing Ouidad’s “Advanced climate control feather-light styling cream. I have had the pleasure of previously trying and reviewing the entire Advanced climate control line. If you would like to read that post click the link: “Have a good hair day“. Thanks to Ouidad they sent me the newest product to the line.

My hair is semi curly. Meaning if left to its own devices I would look like I have a giant frizz ball on my head. So, I have to either straighten it or tame the frizz. My hair is extremely damaged to say the least from all the heat and coloring I have done to it.

However, thanks to Ouidad’s “advanced climate control” line, I can have natural curls without the frizz. My hair has been slowly restoring itself back to its former glory. I live in Florida and the humidity is something I have going against me. With this styling cream I can feel confident that my hair won’t go poof half way through it.

Anyone with curly hair will tell you that humidity is not your friend. The reason is that the structure of curly hair exposes the hair cuticles more than with straight hair. In a sense it leaves your hair vulnerable to unwanted volume, unruliness, and dullness.

The entire line helps combat this. The added benefit about the styling cream is that it does not weigh your hair down. It’s super light while leaving your hair feeling natural, without the  feeling like you have a ton of product in your hair.

The styling cream contain key ingredients that nourish your hair while sealing your cuticles to lock out humidity. It also has a UV filter to protect your hair against sun damage.

One of these key ingredients is Olive oil. This helps clean your scalp and tame your frizz. It also helps improve hair elasticity and helps prevent breakage. It also contains meadowfoam seed oil, which helps hydrate your hair and scalp. It also helps fight dandruff and aid with hair loss prevention. While soy bean oil helps your hair keeps its natural shine.

Like any product if you want to get the best results, use as directed. Ouidad has a good video on their site on they rake and shake technique. Here are the written directions to the technique: Divide damp hair into sections. Rake a nickel-size amount of cream through each section, using fingertips to seal and smooth the cuticle from roots to ends. When finished, hold the ends of hair in each section and shake to create curls. Let hair air-dry for more relaxed curls or blow-dry with a diffuser for more bounce.

Final results with combining the styling cream and their rake and shake technique:

If you would like to see a tutorial on this look leave a comment below. Well till next time lovelies! xoxo!

Bring On The Bright

Hi babes! I’m going to be reviewing the “White Marble Dual Phase Vitamin C Peel” by Erno Laszlo. I was able to try this product for free thanks to Influenster and Erno Laszlo.

It’s a clarifying two-step peel. It gently polishes skin and lightens dark spots and discoloration. Your complexion instantly feels polished and new. Furthermore, you skin will look more radiant, brighter, and smoother. There are protective antioxidants and collagen booster; with these two combines it helps refine and renew your skin.

From the first time of use it has made my skin softer and smooth. I have slightly textured skin on my left side from acne I had during my pregnancy as well as some dark spots. They have lighten as well. I have been only using this product for a month and the results are amazing. I feel like if I keep using this product it will not only slow down the aging process but also make my dark spots nearly vanish. I will be posting and update once I have thoroughly used this product.

I did some research on why this peel worked so well. Some of the ingredients in it are pretty amazing for the skin. Before I get to that I always recommend that getting enough rest and water are essential to having great looking skin. Besides using SPF in your daily skin care routine, make sure not to get too much sun. I know that sounds ridiculous and hard to do but its all about how important you skin is to you. Your skin is the largest organ of the human body and the first line of defense; you should take care of it.

This fabulous peel contains vitamin C. Why is this important for you skin? Well that is because not only does it help with dark spots, dullness but it brightens the skin and contains a powerful antioxidants that help boost collagen levels that help combat the aging process.

Collagen is a structural support protein that is essential for firm, youthful skin. Overall, the amount of collagen in the skin tends to decline with age, an ongoing process that is accelerated by a number of factors like sunlight, smoking, free radicals, and inflammation. As the synthesis of new collagen slows down, topical vitamin C is one of the most effective ways to boost collagen synthesis and slow its degradation.

In Tibet during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), women who wanted to fight the outward signs of premature aging would rub sea buckthorn on their face and hands. The golden-orange berries of the sea buckhorn plant yield a deep-colored oil that is a major source of vitamin C.

It also contains carrot seed oil. This is important because it helps with by balancing dry skin, while helping with age spots and sun damage. Scientists think this has something to do with the “carotol,” a primary component found in carrot seed oil. Rumor has it that this can also help with sensitive skin as well. It can help moisturize dry skin and oily skin without clogging your pores. In other words this is great for all skin types.

Another key ingredient is lactic acid. This helps to exfoliate the skin without irritating it. This ingredient is controversial because some say it can lead to increased sun damage. While others say it can help reduce the appearance of aging, and they can be an especially good remedy against fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of premature aging from sun damage. Lactic acid is an alpa-hydroxy acid.

Not all skin texture problems can be solved with an AHA product. If your skin develops thick patches or there are areas of swelling and lactic acid doesn’t seem to be working, it’s time to see a doctor. Some skin conditions are caused by rosacea, skin cancer and other underlying illnesses such as diabetes, a vitamin deficiency or a thyroid problem.

AHA peels are used with good outcomes for people with pigmentation conditions such as melasma, lentigo or freckles, and may help reduce or improve the appearance of acne scars. The reason there is concern over lactic acid and increased sun damage is that using lactic acid creams, lotions and peels also increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so it’s important to be vigilant about sun protection, from regular applications of sunscreen to remembering to wear a hat, every day.

Like how I mentioned earlier this is a dual step process. Step 1: After you have washed and toned your face (Yes! tone before you use this product.), smooth peel over your face. Massage gently in circular motions for 3 minutes. Step 2: Mix the activator in your hands and massage onto your face over the peel. After one minute, rinse well with warm water and pat dry. At this point you can following with your face cream. You can do this once a week. I wouldn’t do it more just in case you might irritate your skin.

Another good things about this peel is that it does not contain any parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, sulfates and mineral oils. The peel costs $100 but it is worth it. You know I don’t really like over prices things that just do what other products do. However, this is something that everyone should be doing and it is a lot cheaper than getting a facial done at a salon. Well there you have it babes. Till next time. xoxo

Benefit’s Kabrow Vs. ABH Dipbrow

Hi babes!! I’m going to be doing a side by side comparison on Benefit’s Kabrow and Anastasia Beverly Hill’s dipbrow pomade. I’m a big fan of both products and I have both and I decided to blog about it just in case some of you were having a hard time picking one or the other.

Kabrow is a cream gel. It is buildable for however natural or dramatic you may want your brows to be. This depends on the look I’m going for with me. There is an angled brush that comes with it. Apparently it is supposed to convert to a full size brush but I haven’t been able to figure it out. I’ve been using it the way it comes. The application is still precise for me. It backs up the claims about lasting for 24 hours and being waterproof.

ABH’s dipbrow pomade there is a lot of hype for this brow product. It’s a buildaable matte pomade that is supposed to stay put. I have combination skin; the area around my eyebrows tends to be oily. I need a smudge proof brow product. Unfortunately, ABH failed the test when it came to this. Another down side is that if you don’t already have an angled brush, you need to get one. What is great about this product is that it’s available in more shades than the Kabrow. However, I really like this product for everyday use. If you’re trying to go for a natural look, then I definitely recommend this.

Well I leave it up to you babes. If you are an ultimate glam queen that needs smudge proof brows than go for Kabrow. If you like the more tone down beauty looks than I recommend the ABH dipbrow pomade. Till next lovelies!! xoxo
