Visionnaire

Hi lovelies! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. ^-^ My weekend was extremely busy, besides the holiday I also had my brothers wedding this weekend. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Today I will be reviewing Lancome’s “visionnaire yeux” eye balm. I received a sample 20642580901-1through Sephora and I liked it so much that I went out and bought it to thoroughly try it out and give my wonderful followers my thoughts on it.

Visionnaire is supposed to reduce the appearance of crows feet, puffiness, and fatigue. I could already see a difference from the moment I tried it the first time.

It has a Hydrablur technology that blurs away imperfections. It also helps reduce the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles. To achieve these results it does take about 4 to 6 weeks of use.

It is good for all skin types and doesn’t contain any parabens or phthalates. I applied this religiously every morning and night. The only down side to this product is that Lancome only offers a .5 fl oz bottle for $65. The quantity is expected out of an eye cream but the price point is off for me. I would actually rather spend an extra $10 to purchase Bobbi Brown’s extra repair eye cream.

Even though I really liked this product and it was good. It also backed up its claims, it just did not have that wow factor for me. There are a lot of expectations for eye creams and this one just fell short. However, I still recommend this product to those that want to give it a try. For those that just don’t have that kind of money or want an extra rich and creamy eye cream then I would pass on this.

Leave me a comment below on what guys think. Would you try this product and if you did what are your thoughts? Also if there are any eye creams that you guys would like me to review let me know. I am more than willing to be a guinea for my lovely followers. Till next time everyone. xoxox

Light as a feather

Hi babes! Today I will be reviewing Ouidad’s “Advanced climate control feather-light styling cream. I have had the pleasure of previously trying and reviewing the entire Advanced climate control line. If you would like to read that post click the link: “Have a good hair day“. Thanks to Ouidad they sent me the newest product to the line.

My hair is semi curly. Meaning if left to its own devices I would look like I have a giant frizz ball on my head. So, I have to either straighten it or tame the frizz. My hair is extremely damaged to say the least from all the heat and coloring I have done to it.

However, thanks to Ouidad’s “advanced climate control” line, I can have natural curls without the frizz. My hair has been slowly restoring itself back to its former glory. I live in Florida and the humidity is something I have going against me. With this styling cream I can feel confident that my hair won’t go poof half way through it.

Anyone with curly hair will tell you that humidity is not your friend. The reason is that the structure of curly hair exposes the hair cuticles more than with straight hair. In a sense it leaves your hair vulnerable to unwanted volume, unruliness, and dullness.

The entire line helps combat this. The added benefit about the styling cream is that it does not weigh your hair down. It’s super light while leaving your hair feeling natural, without the  feeling like you have a ton of product in your hair.

The styling cream contain key ingredients that nourish your hair while sealing your cuticles to lock out humidity. It also has a UV filter to protect your hair against sun damage.

One of these key ingredients is Olive oil. This helps clean your scalp and tame your frizz. It also helps improve hair elasticity and helps prevent breakage. It also contains meadowfoam seed oil, which helps hydrate your hair and scalp. It also helps fight dandruff and aid with hair loss prevention. While soy bean oil helps your hair keeps its natural shine.

Like any product if you want to get the best results, use as directed. Ouidad has a good video on their site on they rake and shake technique. Here are the written directions to the technique: Divide damp hair into sections. Rake a nickel-size amount of cream through each section, using fingertips to seal and smooth the cuticle from roots to ends. When finished, hold the ends of hair in each section and shake to create curls. Let hair air-dry for more relaxed curls or blow-dry with a diffuser for more bounce.

Final results with combining the styling cream and their rake and shake technique:

Clean Queen

IMG_6481

Hi babes! I’m back again for another review. Today I will be reviewing Tarte’s vegan deodorant, “Clean Queen”. I’m a big fan of Tarte and when I found out they had a vegan deodorant, I just had to try it out.

Clean queen is aluminum free and alcohol free. Why is this good? Well Aluminum has been found to be linked to certain types of cancer cells. Cancer runs in my family, so every little bit helps. Did you know according to the American Cancer Society, that nearly half of all men and a little more than one-third of all women in the United States will have cancer during their lifetimes. So, anything that helps you reduce the risks gets a thumbs up from me.

It is also a natural deodorant that have a ton of natural odor neutralizers without irritation. It conditions the skin and leaving your skin feeling smooth. This important for me because most women tend to shave and the skin in that area tends to be more coarse than normal.

It’s a cream to powder formula that is not supposed to leave any white marks. While it is cream and dries as a powder, if you put on a shirt while it is drying, it will leave a mark. I have yet to find a deodorant that doesn’t leave a mark.

It provides long-lasting daily odor defense, even on the most sensitive skin, with natural plant starches to fight odor without disturbing normal perspiration. This is also not the case. I started out with just the one application daily and I would suffer from BO by the end of the day. This was embarrassing to say the least and this was on one of my off days when I didn’t work out. The days I did work out, OMG it was the worst. I was grateful for working out at home.

At this point I couldn’t believe that Tarte would release such a bad deodorant. I read some reviews and people liked it. I decided to do research on natural deodorants. Apparently there is a transition period when you switch from normal deodorant to natural ones. Since everyone has a different body chemistry this time period can vary.

Aluminum to clog the sweat glands and block sweat from escaping. The experience can be different for everyone. You can let out under arm moisture like crazy, luckily this didn’t happen to me. This happens because once your glands are unclogged, they may release fluids previously blocked by aluminum in antiperspirants, causing an increase in moisture.

What I did experience was an increase in odor. This can happen to some, again it all depends on your body chemistry. Apparently when the the flushing of the system and increased apocrine sweat gland activity results in increased moisture and sweat which interacts with odor-causing bacteria.

There is also increased sensitivity. This also did not happen to me. With a hypothetical increase in bacteria and backup being released via the lymphatic system, it may be that some individuals experience increased sensitivity or tenderness as the body filters out undesired materials.

After learning everything about switching over, I was beginning to feel frustrated. I didn’t know what to do. The only resolution I came up with was to reapply it whenever I would start to feel excess moisture building up, in order to avoid the stink. At this point I was applying it 2 to 3 times a day on a normal day. On days that I worked out I applied right before and after my workout (if you go to the gym and don’t shower there).

The price point of this deodorant is $14 and is not availability in stores can vary. To be honest it was not worth it. I might give it another go to see if it was just the transition thing. Right now though I’m trying Native deodorant. I read really good reviews on it and Allure magazine named it as a natural deodorant that actually works. Till another time babes! xoxo

Benefit’s Kabrow Vs. ABH Dipbrow

Hi babes!! I’m going to be doing a side by side comparison on Benefit’s Kabrow and Anastasia Beverly Hill’s dipbrow pomade. I’m a big fan of both products and I have both and I decided to blog about it just in case some of you were having a hard time picking one or the other.

Kabrow is a cream gel. It is buildable for however natural or dramatic you may want your brows to be. This depends on the look I’m going for with me. There is an angled brush that comes with it. Apparently it is supposed to convert to a full size brush but I haven’t been able to figure it out. I’ve been using it the way it comes. The application is still precise for me. It backs up the claims about lasting for 24 hours and being waterproof.

ABH’s dipbrow pomade there is a lot of hype for this brow product. It’s a buildaable matte pomade that is supposed to stay put. I have combination skin; the area around my eyebrows tends to be oily. I need a smudge proof brow product. Unfortunately, ABH failed the test when it came to this. Another down side is that if you don’t already have an angled brush, you need to get one. What is great about this product is that it’s available in more shades than the Kabrow. However, I really like this product for everyday use. If you’re trying to go for a natural look, then I definitely recommend this.

Well I leave it up to you babes. If you are an ultimate glam queen that needs smudge proof brows than go for Kabrow. If you like the more tone down beauty looks than I recommend the ABH dipbrow pomade. Till next lovelies!! xoxo

I want Kandee

maxresdefault (1)

Hi babes! I’ll be reviewing the “I want Kandee” eye liner from Toofaced . This is a long wearing eyeliner, with an angled felt tip. The applicator is a flexi tip that allows a precise application with mess. This was curated by Kandee Johnson. It smells like licorice and is highly pigmented. It is waterproof and dries quickly and lasts all day.

I honestly didn’t expect much from this collection. With that being said this liner thoroughly impressed me. It backs up all the claims. It last all day and even through some tears. I was having a very frustrating mom moment and it stayed. Eyeliner for me is one of those things that I don’t want to spend too much time on. The combination between the pigment and applicator gets the job done quick. The liner is extremely versatile as well. If you want to smoke out the liner it is possible by smudging it before it dries with black eye shadow.

I created a few different looks with them:

I definitely recommend this product. The price point of $18 isn’t too bad. The only downside is that it is currently out of stock. Don’t fret though lovelies they are planning on restocking this fabulous liner, so don’t forget to grab yours. Till another time babes! xoxo

Rodan + Fields

new-rodan-fields-redefine-eye-cloths-30-cloths-2-in-1-makeup-remover-peptide-6c58661a41150c284cfa66ae17b7564e

Hi babes! I’m here to review the eye cloths from Rodan + Fields. These eye cloths are a makeup remover. While you can you any makeup remover for the eyes, I personally like to use make removers that are specially formulated for the eye area. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and its important to take care of it.

Let me tell you a little bit about this product. The eye cloths are supposed to gently remove makeup around the eyes while revealing younger and firmer looking skin. This is a two and one product that is supposed to remove that stubborn eye makeup while combating signs of aging. Each cloth contains peptides that help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s also supposed to help with tired eyes and reduce puffiness.

This product for me was a definite no for me. First I where contacts and that does not have an effect on my contacts. However, that is the only positive thing I can say about it. It does not gently remove eye makeup. I have to rub my eyes very hard in order to get that stubborn eye liner off. This didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. The wipes are textured and gritty. I felt like I was exfoliating my eye area rather than soothing it.

You get 30 cloths in the pack and it cost $32. That’s a little over a dollar for each wipe which is not worth it. Maybe it would have been if it backed up its claims. I was sadly disappointed with this product. So far the best eye makeup remover that I always go back to is “Just release me” from philosophy.com and it’s currently on sale for $13.30 original price at $19. It last me for six months and worth every penny. It oil based and safe for contact users.  So, save your money and skip Rodan+Fields eye cloths. Till next time lovelies! xoxo

Be YOU tiful

lift

Hi babes!! Here’s another review. I went to Sephora the other day and picked up some goodies. I’ll be reviewing those later. The first thing I tried from my latest beauty haul was this fiber mask by Andalou.

Let’s start on some brief info on the product. It claims to have fruit stem cell complex and resveratrol Q10 which is supposed to instantly hydrate and replenish your skin. It also claims to sooth and plump for a more lifted and firmer appearance. You fine lines are supposed to disappear and you complexion appears to be rejuvenated.

The mask is made of silky soft, non woven, pure cellulose fiber. Its Eco friendly and certified that it is bio-preferred. It also verified to be non GMO and biodegradable. Its 97% derived by nature and gluten-free, vegan, and cruelty free.

My thoughts: It definitely hydrates the face. However, I am not sure if it hydrates the face because of the fruit stem cell and the Q10 or because the mask itself is super saturated in the serum it’s sitting in. I was grateful that I decided to apply the mask over my sink. There was quite a bit of spillage. At first you think is all this necessary but then when you feel you skin afterwards it was worth it.

As far as feeling firmer and lifted for my skin; sort of. My skin felt smooth and firmer but it’s not like I looked like I did some injections or anything. One thing that I really didn’t like was the design of the mask itself. The eyes and mouth holes were very small and I had to stretch them out a little to actually fit it on my face.

It’s easy to use and affordable. This is not a for or against this product. To put it simply this may affect various skin types differently. I would say for $5 give it a shot and see for yourself. Till another time lovelies!! xoxo
